Does it work out cheaper to get one from the states and pay the shipping and tax on it or from a uk dealer. What would be a good price for one first hand for a uk manual turbo?

one of the traders was selling them on here for £280 which is a very good price, not sure which one but have a look ;)

I still think Z1 Motorsport works out cheaper from the US.

$416 is roughly £224 then postage and tax.

Although is cheaper and also very good.

Try Smithy, he may be able to do a good price.

I'd suggest that SWZ is still going to be cheaper. You'd be paying approx £60 tax on that and an additional £60 - £100 at least on shipping (Cost me £50 to ship a carbon fibre spoiler). So estimate final cost on arrival in the UK of at least £350.

i have found $319 here....

but i also found it for alot more than the one you quoted. It is amazing how much differences there is in price in the states where everything is always about the same in this country.

does anyone know from any similar experiences what the hit for shipping and tax would be? aparently it weighs 25lb = 11kg.

That's about £170. On that basis, tax is going to be approx £50 and shipping about £60 - £100. So at the very least it's going to be the same price as SWZ. But far more hassle. I reckon in the end it would still cost more than it would do from SWZ.

the import duty varies greatly on the courier i find.my front mount kit import charges were only £37 with UPS yet a set of pistons from the states set me back £26 when delivered by parcelfarce.get the sender to mark item as sample and it should reduce the duty.under pricing the item on the shipping note is risky because if your parcel is lost the courier will only pay the stated value.HTH.

i wouldnt chance it from the US you'll be pissed if it comes damaged
