Ariel wiring

Hi Peeps,

Just fitting a new ariel to my zed and just wondering if anyone out there can confirm the wiring scheme on the original arial. I've got a green wire and a green/purple wire coming out of the unit into a connector.I assume the green/purple one is the live but can anyone confirm this so that i don't start blowing things up please.

Cheers

Ian

Have you not got a 12v test lamp? Dont know the colours but one will probably be permanent 12v and the other switched - easily confirmed with a test lamp.

Might be telling you something you already know, apologies if this is the case.

No chap. haven't gpt a test lamp. Not too technically minded!!!

Hi zebedee,

Using This Link, it shows the wiring diagram for the Z32 ariel circuit (clicking anywhere on the page takes you to the next page, location of loom and timer relay)

I can't see any purple or green wires onto the ariel unit  (I've also checked on two other wiring diagrams for different years, and still nothing)

Don't forget about the timing relay, if your replacing the whole unit with an after market one, it'll have it's own timer relay built in.

Incidentally, you can still obtain OEM ariels from ebay in the States.
