Just recieved my relay from cpc, but it doesnt have any bloody laybles that i can see! Has no numbers on the bottom at all or anything that makes the pins job obvious. I need some help please as to which is the trigger and which the load?

 

The relay is a NAIS ALE15B05

 

 

The left hand side says 16A277VAC & 16A 30VDC

 

Right hand side says 16A250V~COS0=1 & 16A 30V 0ms

 

Im guessing the left is the trigger? and right the load?

Why have you bought one for a microwave oven, whats wrong with their Automotive Relays?

I needed one that would trigger at 5v off my pcs usb port

:smash: What are you hooking up that needs to know that your usb is pluged in??? Only thing i could think of witch is somthing i whold like to do is set up a kill switch so th car will not crank unless its hooked to my pc :dance: but thats just one of my ideas. What are you doing?? Im so interested i could :hurl:

Im using the usb power to trigger another relay to avoid my usb soundcard causing a "thump" everytime i turn my carpc on. Its caused by the fact the amps are switched on by ACC at the moment and clearly the laptop takes a few seconds to boot and then find the soundcard... hence the thump...

 

Hopefully this will remove some of this problem! I will update if it works!

why not use a timer delay on your power for the amps? That might work :)

Thought about it, but im hoping this relay will be a robust solution, the problem witha timer is that the pc doesnt always take the same amount of time to start up (depending on if its hibernated or been in standby etc..etc..) Hopefully the 2 relay system should work, but i guess i will find out soon!

Yes no problems, once i get my system pegged down il post my findings, tips things to avoid etc... Hopeing to disappear shortly from work and go and see if this double relay thing works!

as soon as one relay triggers the other will trigger aswell no real delay just form the relay but if your sound card is found at the same time you get power to the usb it shold work
