personaly m8 wouldnt touch pirelli found them great in dry rubbish in wet, if you look round you'll find allthe major tyre companys have a second brand name they use these to not cheepen the 1st name, pirelli have ceat michelin-riken, continental-uniroyal pirelli now have merged or taken over goodyear the best gripping and lasting tyre we found was michelins but i've got good year on mine and they've been great hope this helps found out by working at kwik fit for 8 yrs cheers pete

ah cheers mate good advice. im lookin at F1's atm

235/35 18's

lol ok mate. nice lookin car btw seen it on sunday.

Get rid of the nangkans and get some bridgestones

what bridge stones u got??

Goodyear F1's lasted me about 10k miles (2 years), but since changed to the Falken 452's and very impressed...as good as if not better than the F1's at a great price...they are becoming very highly regarded.

cheers dave liking the sound of great price :D

well of course there wont be much grip on a Nankang, it has a treadwear factor of 320.

Just use the treadwear number that is on all tyres to make your own decision .

Big number like 320 means they are hard = last well but poor grip.

Smaller number like 180(Pirelli P6000) means medium grip and medium mileage.

Low number like 50 (Kuhmo V70A) means its a trackday tyre with superb grip but isnt really suitable for everyday use.

Price usually goes up as the treadwear number goes down.

The Kumho V70A is ridiculosly expensive to buy and will virtually disintigrate at sustained high speed on a hot motorway.

My Mickey Thompson street ET radials are so soft they dont have a classification at all, and they Will disintigrate at sustained high speed on a hot motorway. And they are £200 each! :headvswal

lol i c. think im going for falken 452's now

Well before you do just ask what the tread wear factor is, that will help you decide if it is the tyre for you.Its stamped on the tyre wall for anyone who doesnt know.

Falken 452 Specifications:

Treadwear: 280

Traction: A

Temperature: A

Speed Rating: ZR

Although how well a tyre can be rated and even its grip level can't just be put down to the Tread wear rating. One of the great things about the 452's is there progressive nature on the limit. They also ride very well and are low noise.

Tyres are cheaper than crash repairs and your health - spend a reasonble amount on some good tyres. If the Bridgestone S02's are anything to go by, the S03's should be excellent.

Toyo Proxes TR-1's are the way to go, brilliant tyre, brilliant prices!! Easily as good as any of the BIG names, a bit harder to get hold of thats all!
