for some reason the zed is cutting out when changing gears (down the box that is) revs just drop right off then cuts out :confused: under 500rpm sometimes surges back up to 1500rpm :confused: then drops slow to 1000-800

dont know with the Z but thats a common prob on vauxhalls. its the idle control valve on them. if the Z has one of these, i'd presume it to be the same thing? if not i'd say a vaccuum pipe or pressure sensor of some kind would be at fault.

also sounds like its sucking in air from around o/s dump valve on hard pipe

Do a boost leak test, & go over all your clamps :)

mine was doing the same thing ,found it to be the bov's took them off went back to recircs and put a hard pipe kit on from z centre and the problems gone ,the car also is smoother and idle is as smooth as silk,i also changed all the vac pipes at the same time,but the problem was still there untill i got rid of the bov's.
