Some Velcro!! :D

This is for attaching a couple of items to my dash, but I'll need to give it a proper wipe/clean, so what do people recommend to clean the dash properly with, so that the sticky will stick!!

TIA

Will have to see if I can find any. I've got some Medi-wipes that are alchol based, do you think they'd do?

A solvent should do the trick. Nail polish remover is good. Remember to test it on an out of sight area first!

They might have antiseptic properties which could affect the adhesion. The purer the better!

Meths or carb cleaner?

Yip!

I use Methyl Ethyl Ketone at work. Evil stuff but cleans things up a treat, ready for sticking! Dangerous though.

Just to let you know : I tried using velcro for sticking a GPS bluetooth unit to the dash (as a temporary measure). Worked fine until we had some hot weather, then the heat made the adhesive on the back of the velcro turn into runny goo. Stained the dash a little bit and took quite a bit of cleaning off.
