Hoping for advice more than paint lol! Im just about to respray my center section that goes around the radio and am not sure what to use. I want a finish as close to OEM as possible, so was thinking about maybe Plastikote as I have used on that on other bits before and it gives a nice finish and generally doesnt need primer.

After advice really from people that have resprayed (even from the guys that have sprayed silver etc.)

Thanks

Did mine in acrylic but needed to match the shifter colour so had no choice, it came out well though. :D

Plastikote it is then. What sort of finish would it be to match the nissan one? Also would it be worth prime-ing first or just spraying a few thin coats?

Did mine with Halfrauds plastic primer, VX gray metallic and Halfrauds clear lacuer.

Only pic i have. It actually looks darker in the flesh.

Screen displaying rear view camera image :D

neither did I in the past but this time i wanted that glossy wet look. Takes a few coats but i think it's dffo worth it.l

I have a decent one here for sale to save you the bother... let me know if your interested.

No its ok thanks, needed to paint mine after some fabrication work i had done. Black plastikote works a treat!

I have sprayed mine with plastikote and have decided it isnt worth it as it does scratch quite easily, am reworking all the fabric panels with vinyl( dark grey) soon and will cover the centre panel as well to give a nice contrast to the rest of the dark stuff

Nice. Is that your new shifter? & are you going to Donnington Saturday?

Hi - I need to tart up my radio surround as well so was interested to see yours, looks good. Question: where did you get the lower cover/flap from ? I need to chuck out the original Nissan Tv and replace the radio cassette with a decent unit so I will have a hole to fill.

Cheers
