data scan problems

I have the data scan, and it won't connect to the ecu, looked in my pc device manager and its showing a conflict, whats the best way to sort it???

I think when I got my one I had a similar problem and I had to go into the communication setting and change the port (set mine to 4) and it then worked for me.

so you have to change the port settings even with usb, I though it would auto detect??, do I change this in device manager??

There is an option in datascan to change the port under Settings then Communications or press F5.

still no joy with datascan tried setting ports and no joy, all it does is seem to scan but not connect to ecu........help

I'm assuming you're using a USB/serial port gizmo, rather than a traditional serial port in the back of a laptop.

 

By default the USB com port will have a low number like 6, pick something high like 36 and try again.

by default the datascan is using port 1, my lappy has a usb port, which i'm useing , i tried several other values , and in device manager its showing a conflict on the usb not the serial port connections, as if its not got the correct driver for it???wtf?
