I was cleaning out my 300 for the first time since buying it in November, I took out the passenger side matt when I noticed the footwell carpet was velcro'd to a wooden panel.

 

I didn't have a screwdriver on me at the time, so I didn't open it. Is this panel normal ? and what is behind it ?

 

Am I likely to find a 1K block of coke when the car was used for smuggling ?

Herman, I've heard of this being done before in order to smuggle electronics

 

Have a look you may find an ecu and an aircon controller
