Hi,

After recieving Bobs cd manual, Thanks for every thing Bob, its very good. And looking at all the cars in the rides sec'. I've now taken the time to toothpick the car from plate to plate. It seems to be that my Z is a bit different. I bought the car in Aug 2000 off of a new neighbour (a car nut!)who bought the car from performance parts! I know the entire engine & turbos + acessories have only done 21k, Jap possibly, the man spared no expence! So far I have found;

ram air total induction compressed inlets?

S/S exhausts-make unknown? a loose vacume pipe pipes with no home at all, and other strange misalinements thereabouts.

The car ticks over at about 1100 rpm, and the boost is at -14, floor it and the needle goes off the + scale & eyes start squinting!

I've had performance cars before (but!)Has some one been at the thing already! I need to see someone who knows, if the next meet is not at SP or silverstone, I want advice on is this right and relyabilaty.

Yours 'Z'ideways without warning!

Harve

harve,

-14 on the stock boost gauge is fine during normal off boost driving conditions.

If I remember (it has been a while) the boost pressure on the stock gauage shouldn't go past the +14psi unless the boost pressure has been increased in some way.

1100rpm is too high for idle although this is easily adjusted.

As for the vacuum pipe with no home; it could be part of the boost upgrade which it sounds like someone has fitted.

If your Z's not detonating under load and pulls like a train then it must be good :-)
