Nice and sunny, cold wind going up the track. Four 300's turned up including mine. I posted a best of 14.027secs and 104.90mph, so for an auto not too shabby and I'm getting better at the starts. A Cozzie Sapphire blew me away which p****d me off but he was running big boost and manual.

 

Some curious cars there, including what I think was a Fiat 500 with a V8 in it which I went up against it and was going to loose big time until he slowed up having broken something. A brand new red Ford F150 stepside with a 5+litre supercharged V8 that he bought to drag in, not even had its first service yet and he is dragging it.

Was a good day for me and looking forward to the next, but I need more boost.

Yeah Brilliant day, lots of exitement racing, nice and Sunny and cool. My best time was 14.1 at 99mph, was only running 11 psi on the day, I was launching really well, I even gave a 400bhp modified Corolla a run for its money, stuffed him at the start, I was leading all the way, until his boost came in and got me in the last 60ft.

Had a race against Grant and his Red Zed, I think he was running 14psi, it was very close, had a superb launch of the line and hooked up second very nicely got a few Car lengths up on Grant, he came back strong right at the end when his boost kicked in, but I just held it at the end, I beat him by the slimmest of margins 0.05 of a second. I'll post the timing slips this week. Grant did very well he posted a couple of 13.5's on the day.

I had a couple races with a Camaro 440 at the beginning, I came in at 14.4 and the Camaro at 14.99.

John N whats your estimated bhp for your Auto?

My best run was 60ft @ 2.445 secs, getting better at the starts but I really wanted a run in the 13.xx seconds but not got one so far.

 

I have no idea on bhp or torque as I can't find anyone in my area with a dyno to handle the car. But with the mods so far must be somewhere from 380 to 400'ish? Am hoping to get it dyno'd and a boost controller this year but I want someone tech competent on 300zxTT autos to do the work as I think it has more power in it yet.

Good times I've gotta say well done!!! What was the grip like - it sounds like you were getting good traction. When me and warren went last year we were still wheelspinning over the line BTW did anyone film your antics???

The grip is always crap at Santa Pod, But I did a few mini burn outs just before the start line, to get the tyres nice and sticky.

NO video I'm afraid my mate couldn't find his video camera in time . But did get a few pics, I'll post them soon.

Oh yeah that Fiat 500 with the V8 was posting times in the Low 11's the fastest car of the day!

A Fiat 500 V8 is a definately a "Funny Car", but sounded great. I really wanted to get a chance to go up against a manual 300zxTT but could not get it organised. Maybe later in the summer more of us could get together at either Santa Pod or York.

ok so it is actually 2 seconds he wins by, but he runs an 11.59 at 123 mph!!!

Grant , scan the image as black and white only, instead of colour and try and convert it to a gif image.
