Dodgy suspension mods

Hi just working on very nice Jap imort car for a customer and whilst doing several jobs have been asked to investigate suspension noise.Well this motor has had some serious height adjustable struts/shocks fitted at some time but unbelievable has not only been assembled wrong this car has been the subject of MOT`s and not been noticed, in the pic I have arrowes the problem, no spring location plated fitted so spring is not retained except by the compressed weight of the car, when going over good bumps or bridges or in fact jacking up the spring moves place at the top and gives a nasty scrapping sound,just shows be careful out there and Mot`s are not to be taken as a full quality inspection. Now off to ring the customer ...oh dear
