Ok fitted the venom led rear lights today, willget some pics up later, indicators and break lights work fine, however the rear lights don't? no voltage at the back?? tried to trace the cableing backbut can seeanything obvious.....

so thoght i'd check the fuses, found one blown ( top row 3rd from front of car, what does this one do????), which didnt solve it :headvswal

However with this fuse replaced, this is where i need the help, there is a cable in the light pod that started to smoke, and has now melted the insulation!!! with the fuse remove all is fine, but no rear lights, also with the lights on the head lights only use the mian bulb, even when the switch is only on side lights and i cant "flash"with the lights on, it only work when the lights are off???

Can anybody tell me what this fuse powers and WTF is going on, looks like i'm gonna have to replace the dash loom now :headvswal :headvswal

And still no rear lights!!! going on holiday thursday and need to move the car about 1/4 mile to a secure garage. so really wanted to get it all done today,

Anybody got any ideas on this and has any body got a lighting loom?? will post in the wanted section for this as well.

sorry for the long post

Cheers

well got it all working, and the way luke said to wire it up, which is good, now 4 outer rings are dimmed as rear lights and then go brighter when the break pedel is pushed, and 4 inners as indicators

nice 1 can you explain or show a dia of how you got outer ring to act as both stop and tail lights also what bulb did you use inplace of the red inner bulb

Red inner bulb???mine came with 4 indicator bulbs, i'll try to explain.

On the right hand side of the car, take the 2 red and 2 blacks, these are you indicators, and connect to the nissan loom. with the outer led rings connect both the blacks and both the browns together using connector strip, the little block you screw the wires into, on the browns connect 100omh resistor ( which you already have) into the browns along with the break light live, job done so when the lights are on the power goes through the resistor and dims the leds when you push the break pedel cos there is no resistor the leds shine at full brightness.

i just had to change a wire that was live and completely melted and exposed in this exact loom.

When someone installed the rear foglight on my import they wired the +'ve into the dash loom behind the right hand pod, the current draw had melted the entire wire. I have soldered and heat shrunk a new wire at each and and attached it to the loom. Need to sort out a new safe live for the foglight one day now.

So a dodgy fog light install may be your problem.
