I hate the bloody site, but after reading this post below, im disgusted, this guy has been mentioned here before for abusuing his job

the guy is a policeman, in the last pictures, you can even see his car ( he mentions it himself)

our tax goes o pay this fookers wage, and is he doing his job??? no, he's out taking pictures of cars so he can slag them off on a website.

he should be sacked imho

dont know the circumstances of the photos

but IMHO, if he is a cop and in a position of trust (which most copers are) i dont think he should have let on that he is a cop and taking iss out of crap cars

if i had a car and it werent up to spec i would have trouble phoning the police for help after seeing what they say and do to crappy cars

he may aswell go to a robbery anfd laugh

What did you expect them to do? Fingerprint your drive?

I would expect them to come around, and ask any neighbours local if they seen anything suspicious, i would have thought it was the same person mark spoke to that told him theres nothing to do for him, but instead he was jurking himself of over a ford puma and pissing tax payers money up the wall

I used to quite like Barry boys, and still find some of the pictures funny, but I just find its full of people up their own arse now. Most of them just as bad as the Chavs they like to take the piss out of. Check any thread on that site and it'll be full of the same tired comments, the majority of them are like record players stuck on play and not even thinking about what they are saying. 'Oh don't like those wheels' 'look at this chav exhaust, what a tool' blah blah blah etc . When theres a reason for it I'm in agreement (ie a saxo with a dustbin exhaust on the back, or the escort in my avator :) ) but half of that lot would still come out with the same comments if they saw a decent performance car with a bonnet full of high powered mods, and so actually benefited from the big exhaust.

Got to agree. The first time I saw the site I thought it was quite funny, but dig into it a bit and it's just a bunch of the same old people being nasty for the sake of being nasty, and it became boring quite quickly. I don't know that the police should be concentrating on their work 100% of the time in the sense that, let's say he chats to an old lady for half an hour whilst out on patrol. Is that work? Not work? Good community relations? I don't want them feeling like they've got to be looking over their shoulders the whole time in case somebody perceives them as "not working". OTOH maybe this guy is abusing his position a bit, and he certainly seems pretty smug and self-satisfied: "hey, look at all these poor saps who've got less money than me, and who spend time modifying crappy cars." Would you rather they were out mugging people instead? Honestly, where's the harm?

In any case, maybe people who start out being crap at modding cars get better at it as they go along. Who knows? There's a guy drives an old white Porsche not so far away from here, and TBH the thing's a mess: two spoilers, a wide-arch kit that's all gone wrong (or maybe he's just put massive spacers on the wheels, not sure), and to top it all he's just stuck these Ferrari style lights with grey surrounds on the back. Every time I drive past it I wonder if he actually has functional eyes, but the thing is, as minging as his car is, he's not doing anyone any actual harm and he's not breaking the law. Who knows, maybe the next one he mods will turn out to be great.

All just an opinion obviously.

I do agree that it is very unprofessional and out of order to be blatantly taking the piss.

I understand that they would like the police to come round but speaking to the neighbours could be done yourself, why waste a police officers time doing that when they could be out looking for the car? I'm sure if the neighbours had seen something I would hope they would have called 999.

I'm sure a lot of police time is wasted by such things expected by the general public but actually achieve nothing, let the police do the job their way, the results would be far better i'm sure. A bit like football managers, everyone thinks they can do a better job!

Royston Vasey is the fictional town in the League of Gentlemen. Hadfield in Derbyshire is where they film it and I've got some friends who live there, but the bit they live in doesn't look like those photos. ;)

Oh and it's called Royston Vasey as that's the real name of Roy 'Chubby' Brown.

erm, cos thats what they are paid to do?

maybe if you are broken into it would be better if you could get a DIY fingerprint kit from Tesco's & send the results in. would save some of the coppers time too.

could be loads of ways of not "bothering" the cops, DIY rape test kit, GBH kit....

police are next to useless unless they can make money out of a situation they wont bother with certain crimes. The people that run the police have alot to answer to all about targets and income!!!!!!!!!!

They are not the same, they require training and as such a police officer, as I said the general public expect things done THEIR way, not the police way...

That will be the government then!

All we need is the force area and we can complain, anyone know where the Custard Copper works?

surely questioning witnesses for use as evidence in a court of law requires a police officer as well tho??

Burnley.

If you think it's worth complaining, go ahead, but I can't really see the point. As he says:

Your estate forms part of my area, and photographing cars, and putting them on the internet for discussion is no more illegal, or against the Police discipline regulations than eating yoghurt.

seems as if he spends more time taking photos than anything else

if a trader on here started taking photos of customers cars and taking the piss, everyone would be saying how out of order he is

or maybe Paulc should start giving info on who's car failed an mot and why etc, i said it in this link and i'll say it again if you get your jollys off on that site

Not necessarily. anyone can write a statement that can be used in court. I believe civillians are being considered.

Best of luck with it mate, but as Dave points out, not sure it'll make any difference. Unfortunately I doubt they can put somebody through disciplinary proceedings merely for being a bit of a knobber... bit of a shame really as I don't think the kind of attitude he displays is representative of the police force in general.

Agreed

There are good people and Cocks in all walks of life, Coppers can get a rough deal as we all expect results for our problems, I have met some real Twats of Coppers in My time,

BUT I HAVE ALSO MET SOME OUTSTANDING ONES

And in all honesty if you going to go on Barry Boys Site you have got to expect to meet COCKS of King Kong Magnitude

Fair point there, got to admit. :)

Anything that brings the police into disrepute can be disciplined.

Eeeeeenteresting... guess he's hoping nobody calls his bluff then.

Can anyone honestly say they go to work and concentrate 100% on the job at hand for their entire days work?

Well, if I don't there's a good chance that aeroplanes will fall out of the sky.

shall we take this to a poll about the policeman and the sly shots?

Glad to see the 100s of pounds of money I pay in tax every single week is being put to good use then, if I left my house to go to work at 5am and caught that twat taking photos of my cars I would be kicking up as much shit as possible with his superiors, and yes I would want he dismissed for it if possible
