They were good a few years ago. They have become shite in the last year, giving weird directions. According to tom tom, as you come down the M3 to join the M27 westbound, instead of taking the slip road you have to come off towards the avenue, then down through Basset to join the M27 again near Eastleigh Airport.

Who be that..Gaz? Tom Tom did his nut in yesterday. Ended up using the good old map.

ah tom tom 's......yes they're ok but from time to time they do F**K up .....

best to have a map in car ... ;)

...

Everyone raves on about TomTom but I have had a Garmin Quest for over 2 years now, never given me a wrong direction and was almost half the price of a TomTom, people seem to want it because its the name to have and does does accent / voices  .

i use mine with the sound right down (so I can just hear the speed camera warnings). never gone drastically wrong, but it quite often tries to take me down no entries/ wrong way down 1 way streets when i'm in city centres!!

I got the Tom Tom 500 system. Yes its excellent and it will always get you there. BUT! it does sometimes loose conection with the satalites which is a pain when you are in the middle of an unknown town. I have also found that the "Traffic" optional extra is crap...Yep! CRAP!. I will not be re-subscribing to it next year.

I use tomtom 910 and its good compared to most , but you still need a little common , and never ask the thing for the shortest route ......thats an adventure in most cases

they do have there faults. yesterday we had a few problems due to TWO yes TWO accidents on the same roundabout and trying to get an alternative route quickly was a pest!!!.

then once we got an alternative rout it decided it wanted to turn me down a right turn totally unavailable due to the road layout. me loosing my rag was an understatement but we got there in the end thank fook.

Map Innaccuracies are down to the Map creators and there are a only a couple of companies that provide the map data for GPS software, so most of the Satnav devices share the same maps and same problems.

i use via mitchelin navigator on my pda great software never got me lost yet and been using it over a year easy to set up to
