but only on front tyres :slap: so bought some Falkens from thier website but they didn't have any 452 had to get ZE512's (are they any good ?) Anyway got them fitted yesterday and she passed with no problems. Only thing that worries me is the inside wear on the drivers side. The tread was ok (albeit illegal) but the reason she failed on that tyre is because it had strange wear on the inner edge with the wire banding showing  . As you look at the tyre the outer adge was normal but the inner edge had worn sort of inwards. I couldn't take a picture as I didn't have me camera, I'll try and draw it on the PC as this crappy laptop doesn't have paint or anything. Anyway, until I get some sort of piccy, does anyone have any ideas ?

Camber.

If it's exposed down to the wire, that's pretty bad! I reckon you've been a bit lucky you didn't come a cropper.

Camber is wrong.(too much negative)

Probably worn upper links .

Get it checked at somewhere who knows how to do it properly.

The fitter said I was lucky not to have a blowout (I actally shat myself when I saw the wire !) So I'ts 4 wheel alignment AGAIN. Are there any bushes that could also cause this ? But having said that she passed the MOT so maybe not or did they miss something ?

Any idea how much the upper links are Pete? My Z is running what appears to be stock suspension and there's quite a bit of negative camber for standard.

if your car has been lowered it will increase the negative camber and will cause this. i have the same problem. if you look at the front of my car the wheels look like they are on this angle / \

If its the original suspension then it can sag a bit over the years and lower the ride height without you realising - you may need to buy new suspension to cure it - springs and shocks - I dont they are expensive though.

No its not alignment that is out its Camber. Thats different.

Pop round at lunch one day and Ill give you a lecture on alignment, camber, castor and Ackerman Angles. I have some interesting top arms to show you and maybe some S/h ones that are better than yours. We need to check yours first tho.

Lemme know when ya commin.

This site explains al ab out it.

If the car has been lowered then the front camber will be out.

It isn't adjustable unless you change the arms or get some shims.
