how much do the 240z's go for?

look well nice :)

I dare you to ask that question on the Zclub site! If you do be prepared for reams of posts asking you to be more precise and outlining all the permutations! To be fair I'm only joking as they're right (back-pedalling! ;)) as it does depend what you want. You can pick up a knackered shell for very little and use it as a base for a resto project or buy mint and pay a lot. I haven't really answered the question there have I? ;)

There is a 1973 240 advertised on the ZClub site at the moment going for £24,000.00!!!!!!! ;) oh, and it's in Australia!

The 240Z, 260Z and original (US) 280Z all shared the same body, the shell only changed for the 280ZX (see my sig pic) in 1978

Personally I love them all but then I'm biased ;)

Mmm...280z ...to my understanding its the 2.8 engine in the 240z body and only available in the U.S. ?

I read somewhere (on Zclub) that a typical price for a well restored 240z would be £10k-15k

Completely correct :D Oh, and left hand drive only (I think)

The 240Z, 260Z and original (US) 280Z all shared the same body

Well actually they didnt. :nono:

They LOOK similar but they are different shells. Trust me! Im an expert(so they tell me) But Im NOT going in to all that on here!!

Now... Ill get me anorak!!!

Best place for info is the Z club forum.the 240Z, 260Z and 280Z all share the same S30 body shape with a few minor differences, don't get caught out with the misleading U.S. info regarding these models, the S30 body was also used on much wider variety of models in Japan including 2 litre versions.

Earlier today I popped in to my local Nissan rip off and look what they had

I had a 260 Z in the 80`s..loved it when I got it , but it was kinda unreliable : twin carb straight six with a strange choke lever on the tunnel behind the gearstick . Several cars later ,I got a red 280ZX which I thought looked great at the time...more reliable , but not as quick as it looked . Traded that for a Z31 turbo which was , at the time financially and realistically , the height of my ambition . Quicker and totally reliable . Then the Z32 came out and I was bessotted , but knew I`d no chance of owning one

Many years and cars later I got a Zed TT which pleased me muchly..then I came across this website and found out that I`m treading on eggshells , walking a tightrope and generally always in imminent danger of something MAJOR going

breasts up.

Too much info can be worrying , but you guys an` gals offer a load of terrific advice , so maybe it`s better to be informed of the risks and preventions .

OK , I`m slavering on a bit...see StellaZ`s post for the reason

I`m gonna shut me gob and try to find me coat :nana2:

I had 1 240z and 3 260 2str one was 3.0 turbo charged [by me] ex cars i spent 10k back in 1990 on my turbo great great car tried to buy back [sold it for 3500] many times then found out guy wrote it off  i would not by another, although have thought about it but after a z32 it would not be the same.
