Been sorting stuff out in my Garage as I'm going to have another engine built from the 2.5 TT engines I've got and noticed that the injectors on my original fuel rail are purpley blue. I always thought the car was quick as it always seemed to have the edge on other standardish Zed's, but I just thought it was my induction, boost controler and skill behind the wheel.

The car was registered in November 94 and when i've given the chasis No to a few Dealers theys always said it was one of the cars on the cusp of the changes.

So are these just the later style standard injectors and therefore the later rail and lower plenum or are they 555's.

They're deffo the older style connectors so its pre 94 change. Looks like they're 555s to me Mark :)

Thats what I thought, but that is deffo come off my original engine. Ran it with Apexi Boost and Fuel controler no chip untill later and then couldn't get it to run properly.

Cos I told JD it had standard injectors :headvswal , because thats what I thought. Even Dave at dp use to say that it must be running about 400bhp and he couldn't understand why they couldn't get AdamR's Z to run as quick as mine.

well I'll go to the top of our stairs. And all the people that have worked and looked at my car over the years.

Was the ECU already un beknown to you chipped mate ? woulkd explain it, oh and shame yer wern't the later fuel rails, makes life so much easier and cheaper when choosing injectors :)

I don't know because when JD chipped it for me. He didn't actually chip my ECU, because he said I've got a Auto ECU already chipped and we just swapped it + he had a few ECU's so i guess we'll never know. Explains why I want more from my present set up.

I was hoping it was the later fuel rail as I was toying with thw idea of 740's

Ah ha, got yer :)

well yer still can if you want, just means fitting the new 300degree fuel rail kit, you don't have to machine the lower plenum for this kit either which is a big bonus. It also combats the problem associated with less fuel on No.6.

I've a couple sets on order at the mo for customers, been waiting quite some time but am told not long till the next batch are released, constantly sold out in the US this kit..

cheers
