Years ago the Cosworth 'Big fin' was the car I always wanted and the other day I totally out accelerated my mate in his.

Still there is no room for sentiment in this game..

Since going stage 3 I have also claimed a Sunny GTIR and an Impreza WRX.(all on private roads of course) ;-)

What results have you lot had?

Im just wondering how we stand up to Boxters and Z3's etc..

you will wank all over a boxter and a z3 you do not under any circumstances want to take on a porker gt3 on a straight or take on a scooby p1 round the streets and i dare say my m8 cossie chris will give you a run for ure money in his escort cossie as he is on a level par with me when it comes to gettin giddy

 

well ive raced a 355 ferrari topend and beat him in germany legite (we raced twice and then again at the nurburgring)

i out accelerated him and out top speed (before i got chicken i saw 175mph on the clock and was still way infront)

and a scooby p1 i beat badly

z3 is petty, and

a lamborghini diablo gt, but got whipped from the moment i hit my 112mph limitre lol

so that i dont know the outcoem although they are very quick.

and thats my claim to fame.

 

I took an RX-7 twin turbo yesterday, it had a big exhaust, dunno about any other mods.

Also chalked up a few BMW M3 kills too.

It's nice to see the Z holds up against some serious cars. I am not so lucky to get a chance againg such interesting motors. I drive my Z every day down the A12 and the only thing that hassles me are front wheel drive shopping cars, which of course I swat aside like mere insects ;-)

 

The only interesting drive I had was when I had my 200sx running it off the clock against some porsche 911 thingy and then the porsche casually carried on accellerating, at which point I said to my wife, "Time to get a Z".

I haven't come across anything interesting in my current Z. My brothers skyline has a go every now and then but gets put in its place :-)

 

In my previous Z when I was running stage 3, I had a run with a new 911 carrera late one night (4wd I think)

 

I stayed with him to 130 and then he just vanished into the darkness.

a lot of it is to do with the driver as well i've raced people and won not because my car is faster but probably because they have lost their bottle as they are in a car thats cost 10 times as much as mine and i'm sure when it cost so much a lot of people think twice even more so in the centre of manchester on a sunny saturday afternoon. porkers ferrari's lambo's and b10 alpinas are always gonna give us a real run for our money though. beckham pussys out by the way in his ferrari and his aston. bartez giggsy and coley will all have a good go though. coley has a cossie that he had ice put in after seeing mine being fitted lol a small claim to fame i know but it's better than some of my other shall we say more notorius claims to fame

 

I'm afraid I have failed guys, with my standard 300 I got wiped by a Ferrari F40 a few weeks ago, only the second one I have ever seen on the road. We came off a roundabout and he well and truly left me for dead!! Something to do with power to weight ratio I think i.e. he had more power and weighed less!! :-)

 

Speaking of F40's !! Johnny sort it eh ??

On the subject of speed, in last months copy of EVO magazine is an advert for a small box from Racelogic that sits on your dashboard, standalone, and will work out your 0-60, qtr mile, 60-0, cornering force etc etc all for £120.

Er...correction on that good buddy.. the unit is called the Vbox, uses GPS technology and is £3950 including software for your laptop to do analysis. I might get 2..

Their is a company in the states produces one called a G-Force tha tuses a precision accelerometer, it does 0-60 60-0 Qtr time and cornering G's, plugs into the cigarette lighter for power. Last time I looked it was about $80 + shipping. it is available in mph or kph

I would love to join in and boast about how fast Iam BUT my Z is an import and still it's limiter on it (118mph).

I am going to take it off, then I am going to go out and get that Escort RS turbo that went past me on the bypass the B######D.

 

There is a company called Race Technology (www.race-technology.com) that make a gismo called an Accelerometer, does similar to the GPS toy but is only ~£180. I have one - it's great.

 

blitz do one and i baught it for around 250 £ it is cool and connects to the boost controller they make aswell
