Rather than spending £15 each on the two filters every time you service why not spend a one time £70-£80 and fit an A'Pexi cone filter, not only does it free up power, improves sound, it also saves you money in the long run.

Blitz sus is a very good filter as well, made of stainless plus it doesnt need replacing & you wont get any problems even if it gets wet unlike the Apexi, im selling mine for £60 delivered cost £180 or i also have a old hks mushroom type

Not true Im afraid.....water getting sucked into maf is the same problem for all aftermarket filters with the splash gaurd removed.

so how would i fit one of these? would i need one or two. has anyone got any pictures

you just remove the oem airbox and the filter fixes straight onto the airflow meter :) takes 10 mins

Mike

right, i know what you mean. cheers

Hi Graham,

You have several choices.

If you want to stay "standard" then you can get some replacement panel filters either from Nissan, K&N or A'PEXi. You'll get better airflow through the panels but the airbox is the major restriction.

If you want to go "after market" then I can highly recommend the A'PEXi filter kit I [DTA] sell. It's a doddle to fit (kit comes with ENGLISH fitting instructions incl. how to take out the standard airbox) and makes a noticable difference to low-to-mid range torque. Cost = £85 + delivery. Fitting time = 15~30 minutes depending on how easy you find it to remove the stock airbox. Maintenance is also very simple as it is a dry-type filter. Just wash it under a running tap and allow to dry before reinstalling. No filter oil required at all.

There are other filters available such as the Blitz SUS. Also very good and it comes down to personal taste which kit you go for. In general the Blitz kits are more expensive than the A'PEXi kits and don't offer the same filtration qualities. I would suggest you steer clear of the HKS mushroom type filters. It's not uncommon for the foam to degrade and end up in the intake system (= not good).

Like I said, at the end of the day it is a personal choice. Contact me if you want to discuss further.

All the best,

Dan

i will take the blitz air filter nad!

only if graham doesnt want it!

dont wanna step on anyones toes!! lol

ok fella you have first dibz whats your email addy ??

if you plan to upgrade id go for twin apexi's with the doolz kit

Although that is a very good kit I would think it is OTT for most cars without serious power modifications. A single filter/maf setup will suffice for power output upto 450~500 bhp.
