cover a standing mile in under 30sec? Be even better if it was closer to 25sec.. Im planning something (none zed related) and just wondered if this could be done... would even an F1 car be pushing the 20sec standing mile?

stock zed is capable of standing mile in 34 secs. (according to CarTest software)

 

so I imagine there will be a fair few that will do it in under 30secs.

veyron would, the koeniggseg ccx would. del boys relliant might do.

Interesting, im guessing these speeds are so much less than i was thinking due to the continual acceleration. (was working on the fact that fast 1/4mile times are around 11 sec, so that means the next 3/4 in under 20!)

Well a good 1/4 miler would be crossing the lline at about 140mph+ so at that speed 3/4 of a mile wouldn't take long at all

Which Cerbera mate? 4.5 is much quicker than 4.0 & 4.2. :p

If you're talking about the one from TopGear a few years ago, that TVR turned out to be tuned 600bhp one owned by the TVR c.exec! Which is why is pasted all the other cars quite so well.

It dosnt work like that in order for continues accelaration, a higher gear needs to be selected and accelaration is slower in higher gears

Yes sorry didnt explain what i meant very well. Clearly acceleration will drop off at speed.. so we think any kind of performance super car would be circa 30 sec 1mile from standing (maybe towards 25?)

That car was a 4.2 which is 380bhp standard and it was chipped to around 420-430bhp. It was also in "Red Rose" spec which is about 100kg's lighter.
