I cant find anyware on this site which tells you the various MPG for the all the Z's. :duffer:

I want to know the MPG of a standard Manual TT zx,

But if someone could list all the types of cars it would be very helpfull. Ex Manual, Auto, City Driving, Low Consumption, High Consumption.

Thanks,

Matt

Hello Matt and welcome, as a general rule 20 mpg is an average, it has been talked about a lot though, if you put mpg into the search bar you can see all the threads for yourself.

depends entirely on how you drive it, it is pretty thirsty however though.

I've owned 3 TT's and all I can tell you about MPG is its not a lot. Fuel costs are the least of your worries, maintenance and repairs can be costly. Take your time and buy a tidy one that's been cared for and don't go for the cheap option ;)

ok I have looked around, 20mpg is what i have seen posted. But really theres not much factual evidence on MPG just estimations...

Is 20MPG the fatory stated miles or just what most people have found to be the norm.

It would be great if someone could post the real stats and figures.

Thanks again guys,

Matt

I think the answer is the same as potential Rolls Royce owners used to be told "If you have to ask you shouldn't be buying"

Dave

I use mine as a daily driver and do 5 miles each way to work and back and then general running around.

Driving normally with the occasional blast i get about 18mpg.

I don't do alot of motorway driving but i estimate it rises to late 20's

Baz

240 to a tank for short trips but long hauls on the motorway you could be in the mid 300's.

definitely! un-fookin-believeable! buy a ****in prius if you're bothered about economy!

I have got 32mpg on a long run, doing about 60mph most of the way.

But general rule is about 18mpg for me.

I have heard it going as low as 8 when caining it. But, i could be wrong. Whatever it is, it isn't good! lol

25mpg on a motorway run but down to 3 or 4mpg when thrashing it with my mods

sorry that im bothered about fuel economy...

I have two cars in mind of what I should buy next (z32 Man TT or 93 Touring rx7).. and I like to know the in's and out's of everything before I purchase.

Common faults, engine rebuilds, nagging problems, does it have cup holders.

Ill try not to waist anyones's time again in the near future.

Hope you make the right choice in the end mate ;) , I would guess they are both fairly similar expense wise to own but no cup holders in a Zed as standard

All right, for a manual TT my understanding is that the "official" extra urban figure is around 27 mpg. I'd say this is likely to be pretty accurate assuming you drive like a granny: I managed 26.5 mpg once on a long motorway trip where I didn't push it. Under anything other than ideal conditions expect much less.

Well get out and push it next time, just think of the savings on Petrol. :D

I think the official is 33mpg for manual and 32mpg for auto for urban.

What ever the factory stats say about econamy is a little out of date as these are for new cars not a 16 year old car, you got to take into account wear and tear

don't apologise for me! And, I think what you said in another post is far more out of order if it is a member's car than me pointing out that you shouldn't be buying a 3.0 twin turbo car if mpg's part of your criteria!

dont think anyone would own up to owning that motor

mind you it does have a certain look about it...........................i think they call it shit

Hog wash. All question are welcome, where Zeds are concerned. And as for the rest of you guys just cool it will you please this is a club for Zed owner and should be helpfull to people looking into Zed ownership. You are not inspiring love for the car by being down right rude, and it give's this club a bad reputation. :slap:

Okay rant over :D

I think Rich was just trying to point out that if petrol consumtion is a factor in buying the car then perhaps its not the car for you, and its a valid point, too many of these cars are being bought by people who dont realise the true cost of running them, even if you are lucky and buy a good example the proper servicing and petrol cost are sky high, they then neglect servicing, problems arise and the cars value plummets, this has a bad effect on the value of all our cars in the long run.

But how are people to know if they are made to feel unworthy to ask these questions. Best they feel they are able to ask and get all the information they need before making up their minds. Some people can be so superior and it's just not on. When someone has a question they should not be made to feel stupid or inferior. Time some of you guys woke up to that fact. It makes me ashamed to be a member of this club with attuides like that prevailing this other wise great club. IMO it has got to stop.

But how are people to know if they are made to feel unworthy to ask these questions.

The 3 ltr twin turbo lump should be a good giveaway :D but I am sure at times we all have given a short sharp answer to a question that gets asked time and time again, the club has a lot of faults but we do try to help were possible.

i wasnt replying to anyone with insult just for asking a question. The guy was clearly asking for a bit of help and advise from zed owners possibly in the hope of becoming a zed owner the guy was obviously offended by this and proberbly thinks we are all :xxx: now
