I have decided not to Decat my Z!do not want to risk blowing my tubs,my car is a 1991 manual 300zx tt,the only mod's i have are a blitz sus induction + twin 5" back boxes the make of i dont know?

but i would dearly like my Z to make a more aggresive sound(exhuast note)

so i would be appreciative, on any advice on different back box sound levels?mongosse etc,etc.or is it possible to purchase straight through back box's?

and if so would the exhaust note be more aggresive(louder).

Decatting will not necessarily blow your turbos mate.

 

The reason some cars smoke when decatted or simply fitted with a less restricting cat-back system, is that the turbo seals were probably on their way out anyway.

 

The reduction in back pressure simply shown up a problem that most probably was there already. The car will run on fine for ages, alebit a bit smokey on idle, before you really need to replace turbos.

Alunox (search the forum for details) will build you a top quality custom exhaust to whatever your specification. IMO, for the best sound go for decat pipes and a single exit, but most are put off by the looks.

I agree about the sound, mine is superb and just about as good as it gets imho, I have heard big bore twins and they don't do it justice.

 

But singles do look abit naf, especialy with the original back end, I get loads of comments like, "youv'e got an exhaust missing"
