hi all, i need any info you guys have on a car i,m sure some of you may know. the car belongs to shunter(neil), the club secretary. the car is a black uk tt manual with 19 OZ alloys. ive read in some previous threads that he had trouble with the car smoking after idling for a few mins. does anyone have any info on the car? just i,m getting the train all the way down to bristol on saturday and would rather know if the turbo seals were gone. he says there is a straight through exhaust on the car(bypassing the cats and he runs it on magnatec with a shot of the thick oil additive eg. stp.

could this be to stop the car smoking.

any info would be appreciated.

p.s. hope you dont mind me askin for some advice from the boys on here neil. :cool:

did he mention that he tried changing pcv valves or anything?

 

i doubt a smoke stop additive will be able to stop the tubs from leaking... well, it didnt on mine lol :p

 

im sure shunter will be most helpful himself and not rip you off, have you approached him about it? what did he say?

he told me that he had the pcv valves done and this sorted the problem out. my main concern was the additive. I very much doubt neil would let me travel to bristol on the train from sunderland and buy the car knowing it was fooked. i cant ait to buy my first zed. ive wanted one for a few years now and now that i can afford to run one(buying is the easiest part ive heard lol.) i hope my first experiance is a good one.

i have just got back from neils house, and a look over the car and all seems good, no oil/smoke from what i can see, the bodykit is a one off only 1 in the uk, 19inch rims and generally in good nick for age, being honest its not perfect, as 16years old cars go though id say its a good buy especily for 3k! you wont find a manual z for 3k luckily neil has a convertible, and his misses is moaning about lack of space as all woman do :p pmt i think they call it

 

i was going to buy it, however i can build my own from spares :D

cheers guys, i didnt mean to kick up a fuss just want to make sure i get a decent first zed. i really appreciate you waiting for me to come down on saturday neil. please dont blow her up or wrap it round any lamp posts as i have already paid the 63 pound for my ticket which is non refundable...lol.
