Is the speed sensor different on n/a - tt Models??? or different years on the Z32 or j-spec - UK spec???

I ask as i was given a new speed sensor, well used when i got my zed and it seems to be about a mm or 2 bigger than the 1 in my car.

My car is a 1990 j spec tt, not sure what the speed sensor came out of.

Also the wires come out on the opposite side.

Any help would be really good.

Thanks in advance.

Pete

the sensor is the same, but the pinion is different.

you can swap the pinion though.

I have changed the pinion over as the new one did'nt have 1 on.

It seems to be the actual body that is a different size, it won't go in, it's to big.

then the spare sensor you got is probably from an automatic, which is different from a manual.

Ahh that will be it then i have an auto, so it must be for a manual.

Oh well it was free with the car.

If anyone needs a speed sensor for a manual, if that's what it's for, give me a shout.
