yes if a head gasket goes you are looking at a pretty big bill but not £2k and theres a much chance of the HG going on a 300 as any turbo car :)

if the car is low mileage, been well looked after and well serviced then you should be fine ;)

Mike

Sounds to me like you mate is a tiny bit jealous.

if your new to 300's then i wouldnt recommend doing it yourself but give one of the garages on here a bell to get a guestimate on how much it would be??

also it sounds like you may think its got a problem already?? if so then walk away, theres plenty of decent 300's for sale

No probs

1 - Yeh i would say as an average 16 is about right but all depends on how its driven!! on the motorway at 80 you can see mid 20's quite easily but driving it hard can easily see single figures ;)

2 - a full service yes every 6000 miles but an oil change every 3000 miles to be safe

3 - standard is 280

4 - increasing the oem BHP is always going to not help reliability but if you stick to the first few minor mods ie free flowing exhaust, decent air filter then you can if your still not happy for a decat, chip and boost controller to increase the boost from 9psi to 14 psi which is a big difference and you should see an increase to around 350-370
