hello zx forum

wondering if you can tell me if the block used on the z31 namely the vg30et is the same used for the later z32 vg30dett.

I appreciate the cylinder heads are quite diffierent but would the block be usefull for a donour to the z32 for future rebuilds etc.

cheers

I dont know for sure but I would REALLY doubt that they are the same. Even though the engines had the same bore and stroke, that is where the simalarities would end.

I doubt the mounting points for the air con, alternator etc would be the same, and the oil feed lines for the turbos would be the same.

the actual block is ni on the same and can be used if needed.

Really?

What about oil feed lines? Where do they plumb in?

I know that the Z32 block is lighter and stiffer than the old block, not sure about ancillery mounts and feed lines though.

blocks are NOT the same

vg30de(tt) short block:

vg30e(t) short block:

for a start the cylinder head bolts are not symetrical on the VG30E(T).

Most water galleries are different shaped or at a different position.

oil feeds are at different position(s)

you can use a VG30DE(TT) crank in a VG30E(T) though.

and I've heard of using VG30DETT pistons in a VG30ET...
