air con refit

How easy is it to refit air con if it has been removed. I guess it depends what has be removed and what has been retained but assuming the pipework has remained is it a case of refitting the compressor and condensor and recharging and relubing the system?

 

Does anything need to be removed to get at the condesor /compressor?

 

Are air con systems usually removed purely for weight saving reasons or is the space in the engine bay used for other mods?
