Had the car in the garage this week getting some front bushes fitted (original Nissan) and getting the rear end checked out as it's like driving on marbles sometimes. Anyway they've had a look and say the ball joints on the HICAS have to much play in them and also the shocks could do with changing and to be honest I'm not suprised as I thought this was my problem. Anyway, I figure I may as well get some of the bushes replaced at the same time whilst it's in bits.

I have generally been buying Nissan parts, but wondered if there are better options out there for shocks and bushes for the same or very similar money (don't want to stiffen the car up any more or lower it by the way).

Also, is there a list of the bushes for the rear of the car that I should ideally change whilst this work is being done? and are polyurethane ones better all round or just for some of the bushes.

Lots of questions, but lots to consider as I want it running smoothly again but don't have a large budget.

Cheers,

Gaz

Oh and it looks as though my vibration at 40mph+ is my prop (again not suprised really) :(

Why dont you give Mike a ring at MJP tomorrow.

He will have all you need and can explain differences in stock and urethane bushes along with costs.

Ideal scenario is remove rear frame and do the lot in one go. But I hear you on costs. Mike problably has the hicas stuff in stock.Maybe shocks too.

Cheers Pete, yes it's Mike I've been getting my parts from, just wanted to hear if there were other (better) options, but I'll probably give Mike a ring, if only to find out how much wonga I'll need.

LOL! One phone call and whoosh!!! Melted credit card AGAIN.

Seriously there are alternative sources to Mike but none IMHO are significantly cheaper and nobody gives better service or advice.

Of course I could be accused of some bias here as Ive known him for 10 years or so. But I still buy regularly off him.

Not all the (former) Traders on here are that reliable. Several have just disappeared... without trace!!!!
