How can the Royal Mail charge you £186 import charges on a turbo timer you bought for £50? That doesn't sound right at all!

Royal Mail don't decide the charges - they just collect the money on behalf of the tax office. They charge an extra £10 or so for collecting the money though.

I can't imagine the bill should come to any more than around £20-25. Or are you saying they wanted £150 in postage charges?
