Turned on my windscreen demister earlier and steam started coming throuhj the vents and water was spraying out into the passenger footwell... not good. Is it a simple job to replace? IE can I do it myself or should I just go to my garage.... bloody thing...

If you enjoy taking the entire dash board out, then go for it. You can by-pass it.

No need to take dash out !, it is a BIG Job, but within the capablities of a competent Home DIY mechanic.

SWZ Performance (SouthwestZ) is your nearest 300zx specialist trader if you dont want to do yourself.

It,s not a bad job if its an auto ( no clutch pedal in the way ) took me about 2 hours to do mine :hyper:

Also a trader on ebay has been selling brand new one,s for around £70 HTH

use the first link i posted for the bypass even if its just till you get the matrix changed

OK nice one guys will bypass for now, thing is though, i assume the heaters dont work then...? Could be kinda nippy in there in the winter! LOL Does it affect the engine in any way and do the blowers still blow?

blowers work fine mate, as will air con, just no heat

I was thinking it might be better for the engine as the cooling system is more direct and less chance of an air lock

OK, had a look today, not much room in there is there lol... kinda expected it though. Can't get the tape measure in to measure the diameter of the pipe properly, does anyone know what size it is so I can get the right bit? (I mean the size of pipe I will need to make the u-bend out of copper pipe). Cheers...
