Right,

Ive fitted both the PTU and the CAS that Smithy kindly sent me and it still wont start!!!!!??????

Has ANYBODY got any other ideas what this may be rather than me taking the car to Nissan to get bumped off?

There is definatly no spark at the plugs so what else could that be?

Car just lost power, misfired and came to a stop.

Am getting desperate as its my daily driver and ive been without for 2 weeks now so any suggestions greatly accepted on this

Jase

silly question have you checked all teh fuses?

i presume its turning over?

other that the ptu and cas i dont know mate, maybe worth trying the wiring to both of these, make sure all the connections are working.

maybe worth trying another ecu? i have a manual ecu if you want to try it?

are the plugs gapped right? ie 0.8mm

Will the manual ECU work with mine as its auto?

What other fuses do you recommend ? i dunno if it would be a fuse as it was driving with the misfire for about 2 mins which just got me home before it cut right out?

And yes it is turning over nicely, just no attempt to fire

Are the plugs sparking and are you getting any fuel in there ?

There is no spark at the plugs and i took the fuel line off after the filter and there was fuel there, Also smell of fuel coming up from cylinder when checking for spark with plug out. so i presume that there is fuel going thru, Not getting the usual whirrrr from the fuel pump when u turn the key tho? there is a click from the relay but im pretty sure there no initial whirrrrr if you know what i mean?

im gonna take a hammer to it in a minute haha.....

yeah i have a multimeter

ok how i do that?

if its already primed then it wont do it again unless it needs to so if you leave it a while it will "whirrrrrr" again lol

hmmm strange, you havnt messed with the CAS settings have you? it should be roughly in the middle

apart from that i cant think what else it could be, i will ask my dad later on to see what he thinks it could be

Mike

Set the multimeter to read voltage (around a 20 volt range)

Connect the black lead to earth somewhere on the motor or battery -

Check the meter works by touching the red lead onto the battery + (you should read somewhere around 12 volts)

Remove one connector from a coil

Turn the ignition on and probe the connector terminals (not the coil, the connector with wires attached) and check for 12 volts again

will do now.

Kirbs i scored around the old CAS before i fitted the new one so its in the exact place matey.

Right i have 12 volts at the plug, Middle wire

Yep its on now mines off the car

The 12 volts rules out any fuse failures, crook balast resistors, relays, etc associated with the coils

still no whirrrrrr from pump tho? its been sat for 20 mins so should prime?...maybe fuel pump or relay?

yeah the CAS was coming up but thats a replacement too?
