here goes, i installed 1.2mm boost jets and a new boost gauge when i first time floor the zed i get 11-12 psi but after 10 min it goes back to stock boost 9.5psi. my new boost gauge is reading 2.5psi out i dont know why at full tilt i get 9.5psi but the gauge says 7psi.

depending on the make of gauge ide tend to believe that over the cars gauge, iff after caning the car for 10 mins it drops to 7psi that would sound like its going into safe boost and of course as you know after a re-start the ecu resets back to full boost untill the next dett signal

what make gauge is it

ok heres one

with raised boost the stock intercoolers suffer from heat soak very quickly and your boost will drop off by a few psi

is the gauge one with a remote sensor or is it a pipe into the back of the gauge jobbie

you need the balance bar (the small rubber pipe next to the servo)

well ive re-read your first post and ime going to let you into a secret,my first after market gauge was a autogauge and after 2 months it rested at minus 4psi (thats to the left of 0) then in the warm weather it stuck on 8-10 psi, after getting pissed off i changed it and now its fine so the only thing it could be a faulty "new" gauge :(

i have a digital manometer i am going to check the gauge tomorrow to see if it faulty or not. should i get stock boost with 1.2mm jets in, though i have been told you can

no,1.2mm should give you12psi ive got 1.00mm and i get 15-16psi sensible weather permiting of course, you start talking 85 degree plus and all boost figures go out the window

thanks bud :duffer: i will check the gauge a report back tomorrow

the stealth 2 gauge i have is ok, i did change the crappy clear pipe they supplied for the "T" with decent pipe, I have noticed the autogauge range are very suceptible to electrical interferance , when i turn on my air con fan to high it affects myoil pressure gauge to a drop of 4psi, I am thinking of wiring in a dedicated main earth and supply direct from battery to run them all now and will let you know if there is any difference.

bud, you really need acruate readings first before you can go forward, you think its going back to stock boost when warm but iff the gauges are goosed then that means 9psi as you think could be less (ie safe boost) iff the dett sensors bad then just like mine it clicked into action when motor was warm, before you start spending money just put 1megohm resistor inline and see iff it still drops when warm or after 10 mins even before you start investigating the gauges, iff you want a resistor pm your address and ile pick you one up on monday at no cost iff it means you stop suffering any longer   ;)

suffering isnt the word mate i'm falling out of love with my zed. i have tested the gauge it is 2.5psi out. i put my car in safety boost and the new gauge says 4.5 and i can tell the differance in the car too i put this same thread on chunks new site  and he said that my pipe where the boost jets are in could be leaking when warm which it could be so i'll check for boost leak when its warm. thanks mate for the help :duffer:
