I'd ask the mods to move this to the private forums, if anyone from your work catches this you are fooked :nelson:

im sure its classed as type A diabetes, brought on by stresfull work situations, it can make you weak and make's you very thirsty but no matter how much you drink you cant quench it and you have a craving for pop (because its your blood sugar levels that are low)

im not a doctor BTW so for more accurate info, do a google search on it, that way you wont slip up, and like said before it can be treated with rest and diet rathe than insulin

just go to the docs and get a sick note for work related stress, they wouldnt dare argue!

Sorry mate there is no type a diabetes. I am not sure either that it is brought on by stress. There is type I or insulin dependant diabetes melitus(IDDM), which can only be controlled by insulin. Or type II non insulin dependant diabetes melitus(NIDDM) which can be controlled by either tablets or diet. If you are developing Type I you wll become ill very quickly, but if it is type II the onset is over a few weeks as opposed to days. Yes you will become weak and thirsty but it's not because your BM (or bloodsugar) is low, on the contrary. It is because your BM is too high which causes the excessive thirst. This in turn leads to drinking more, and yes you do crave pop which in turn increases BM which in turn makes you more thirsty and so on and so forth.

It is only once you are on medication for the condition that you will start to have problems with your BM being too low, this is usually because of an overdose of medication or lack of food after medication. Which in itself is another topic entirely.

This means i cant use type ii diabetes as an excuse as it wont be good enough to skive off for three weeks

I badly need an excuse

the only non testable illness that will enable you to take time out is mental health issues hence stress, depression etc!

check out the link i posted above might find some thing there

How about Helicobacter Pyloris? Just fake bad acid indigestion for a few days and then take the time off. When you go back, say you had to have 3 x 7 day courses of very strong anti-biotics to kill it and you were in too much pain to do much else.

Iv used stress and depression once already..............dont think i could get away with that again solely

Kinda already said to them that i gotta go in for some blood tests and thats why i said it needs to be blood related

hhmmmmmmmm not sure maybe not im searching right now for any ideas what you could say

Pernicious anaemia can infact cause depression which ties in well with your previous time off through deprssion and the blood tests you say you are having. so you could have the time off for depression and use the pernicious anaemia as a root cause and tie it all in with your blood tests as anaemia is only discovered through bloodtest. No one can argue with depression and your story about being anaemic will tie in and make it sound more genuine??? so they can not say anythiong, can they?
