A few friends bought an old Rover 213 when I was away in France last month...They chopped the roof off with an angel grinder and drove it round a field until the chassis gave up and snapped.

Have always wanted to do this since I was a little kid when I had my first 'decent' car book named 'Famous Marques of Britain'. The book was full of hilarious 70s and 80s British Leyland cars which always used to make me laugh.

Budget is about £50. I'm quite distraught actually, the only Lada Riva on ebay is up for about £300. Waaayyyyyyyy out of my price range and way to expensive for. There aren't even any Ladas for sale on Autotrader.

What more, FSO aren't even listed in autotrader as I want to kill a Polonez ontop of anything else.

Would quite happily kill a Favorit.

So, top list of cars I want to kill are as follows. Any of these will do really if I can find one.

Austin Maxi (becoming a classic, so the chances of £50 jobs are few and far between)

austin_maxi_1.jpg

Austin Princess/Ambassador...again, almost Zero left on the roads now and have become a classic...

Austin Allegro - again, will probably be very hard to source for £50

Austin Maestro - A deffinate probability

austin_maestro_01.jpg

FSO Polonez - If I can find one.

Morris Marina/Ital (preferably a ginger one with Webasto roof - as pictured)

Lada Riva - Again, if I can find one

Yugo 45A - some about, but really really getting to be a rarity now.

Skoda Favorit - Early ones with the 'white dog 5hit' coloured bumpers seem to be up for grabs for £free.

What ideally I'd like to do is to screw on a home made MDF bodykit, then abuse it somewhere...I have formulated various tests. Final test being the grand torching. Aim of the game is to hopefully film it and get it screened on Top Gear, although I think the later part of the plan may be somewhat over-ambitions.

I bought a J reg VW Golf MK3 with T&T once for under £100. So it is doable. I made £100 on it though when I sold it as I was a little hard-up at the time, otherwise, I would have killed it as it was a hateful car.

I tried though...drove it through a river....

LOL! twas a long time ago. literally angle ground the roof off! we welded the doors shut to give a little (!) rigidity.

it really was a nasty job just for my mate to cane around in for the summer! :wack:

used to do it to all the cars we had to 'practice' on at work!

unfortunately, due to health and safety every car we get is now drained of all its fluids before we get it. *******s.

was great fun, do an rta drill, normally a straight roof removal and 'b'post rip (take out the doors and b pillar) and then rag it round the drill yard, great fun

Lol, what fun! A few of us did this many years ago, to an

allegro estate, ended up having to get the fire brigade to

put it out!

i'd crush a nova or saxo.... maybe even a pug 107

I'd join you in that one. Could we add Festi's and Ka's to that crushing list too.

so did you get to the big comp in Brighton then. we had a good one to do. car on wheels with another one on placed on to the A-B posts driver's side. A nice door removeal and then a 3rd door entry removed casualty in 17mins32 sec's but still not in the top 8

yeah sure did the crowd were shoutng REST, an assessor stopped them in the end. oic neva notced it. we saw some very eye opening practices down there. i no we weren't perfect but when we were on, freinds in the crowds heard some really go comments about what we did off other teams watching.

saw nice use of a malet to put chocks in and a medic jumping in and out of a car 4 times just to taik to the oic???wtf thought if you were medic the oic would keep coming to see all was ok with you not the other way round.

The bridgend boys were v good saw two of there extrications

holmatro were laughing as there was quite a few problems were the clan lucas gear

You can have my Xantia 1.9 TD for £100 It is a very good car and was just about to break it, still has tax and MOT on it. I have just sold the battery from it, so if you brought a battery with you, you could drive it away.

Is actually a very good car and is too good to crush/scrap/break, but I want the space!

few minor cosmetic blemishes, alloy wheels could do with a refurb. and I smashed a fog light driving into someones towbar. other than that - spot on inside and out.

Xantias have height adjustable suspension so you could raise it up if you want to go bonkers over fields.

I quite like Xantias, couldn't kill one. I only want to kill cars that I hate.

jeez, that quite scary! iv been at an rta before when one of the seadoc (local) doctors turned up and put a pair of scissors through the rear quarter window and crawled through whilst we were trying to stabilize the vehicle.

needless to say my feelings were made known.
