Is it possible to add cruise control to a manual TT? If so how much work and what parts would be involved?

Featured Replies

you need the dash bits ie switch control, steering wheel with controls and the cable etc

not that difficult to do, i have all the stuff to do it somewhere :)

Thanks guys, has anyone already done this?

  • 1 year later...

iv looked into this for myself... it sounds easy to do but tbh retro-fitting cc to a non cc zed is really quite a big task!

fair enough you have only to swap the switch pod and bolt in some bits etc but the main draw back is the wiring... nissan did not supply the zeds with a universal harness as the wiring for the cruise control is not there :( therefore u would have to make up and trace your own looms which could lead to some hefty strip outs!

so, although its possible, it is quite a heavy job to undertake! once sum1 has done it and is aware of what exactly needs doing im sure there could be some relatively nifty little short cuts!

how much wiring needs to be hooked up? :(

joel i have found a schematic for the wiring and if i get the components from a donor car it looks like the main thing i need is a feed from the speedo

I have the control unit and cable if someone wants it to give it a go? Also have the pod with the buttons but would need a pod back with no buttons. Would also swap the steering wheel but depend on condition and stuff.

seem to remember you have to swap the pedals too, you need a feed from the clutch and break pedals
