MIne's on its way out too. However the occasional smoke is at worst a little annoying. There's no noticable oil consumption or drop in performance so I think i'll leave it as is.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

my cars been of the road now for approx before exmas, whilst ive been changing stuff,ie.like , chromed headlights/striped out interia/now spottles/second hand fuel tank/underbody engernering/ rear quaters rebuilt/seals: old metal out new in ang rear spoiler of new high wing on,fear wiper motor of.all flush, new wheels & ruuber, now got to underbody seal, change front bumper.and sort out tub before mot and paint ready for the record attempt, thats why i need to know if its easy to do rather tacken the engine out?

Blue smoke from your exhaust, can be at idle or when under boost.

is it all the time or does it clear and go. one of my tubs smokes but clears, i have been told it could be PCV valves

Dipone bud, ive got the same problem on mine at the moment. Somtimes on tickover it will smoke then other times it doesnt. Also ive got a strong smell of unburnt fuel (running rich). Ive got to get consult on it to see if its PCV valves. Dont panic yet LOL

Hello, I have just paid the garage NZ$2000 - about GBP700 to remove LHS turbo, send away for repair, could not repair - too damaged - so install new one. The turbo cost NZ$1300, the balance was labour. I looked at removing turbo myself, but unless you have good facilities for working under car, ie hoist, pit then pay the man!

Cheers, Martyn

Its an engine out job to remove the turbo's.

It can be done with the engine in(with difficulty) by removing gearbox, but it will take just as long and less chance of mistakes with engine out.

i only want to replace the left one is this easy?, and yes i have access to four poster
