This is a disgrace just like the thousands of ex greyhound racing dogs and hunting dogs viciously killed by their owners when they are no longer of use. Ban the fookin lot and enforce the police to look after of rehome ex police dogs

scumbags

speechless....another reason to ridicule the decisions made by senior police management.....

Indeed, the handler and his family want to keep the dog but the senior people are saying the dog is dangerous and they have a duty to the public - F'in dicks!!! Any dog can be dangerous, it's down to repsonsible owner!!

Vijay

get the ba5stards to barnsley and i will kill them, if there is one thing i despise above anything else it is animal cruelty. its just evil and cowardly

customs do the same with thier sniffer dogs..........disgusting

Fecking ar*eholes! The excuse they are using is 'the dog is dangerous because it bit the handler twice in its first year'. The dog and handler then worked together for four years happily and the handler and family want to keep it now. How the hell do they think they have the right to destroy the dog? Makes me sick.

don't foget those emails, may help ;)

Vijay

Email sent. The police wonder why people don't trust them or have any confedence in them well this is why because some of them are complete

B******ds who are in need of a good kicking, then locked up in a cage before being Distroyed.

that's disgraceful - all the untrained, ill disciplined dogs i see around and they are going to destroy a well trained police dog

email sent - just hope it does some good.

Regards,

alex

If they allowed it to live in the handlers home for 5 years where there was a child then why now is it so suddenly such a great danger?

You would have thought that they would have jumped at the chance to let it stay with its handler for the rest of its life.

Not on at all

I stuck it on the rotary forums as well so lots of people emailing :)

Its fair enough it could be a danger if it wasn't with its handler due to the way they are trained, but the handler and his family all want it back ffs!

As a Retired Police Officer I am appalled by this but not in the least surprised. Increasingly Police forces are over reacting to public safety, PC and financial issues.

My own force is at present reviewing officers pensions and threatening to slash them at a whim in order to save money.

I have sent my e-mail in an effort to save the dog.

I also feel the need to question that when a firearms officer fails to qualify will he be sent back on 'normal duties' allowed to retire or will he be disposed of in a similar manner to that proposed for this dog?

Perhaps we are too humane to do that yet, but what of the future?
