Hi folks.

I'm about to do an engine swap on my TT.

The doner engine is from an auto, my car is a manual.

Can I transfer the engine and turbo's complete, or should I use my own turbo's and ancilliaries?

I know there's some differences between the manual engine and auto engine, but not sure exactly what.

Any other related advice would be greatly appreciated for this job.

Dave.

Yeah tubs are smaller so spool up quicker but cant maintain as much boost and the intake cams have different profiles. It will go straight in but you will notice a slight power loss.

He could change the Intake cams while its out? ;)

You mean I need to take the ecu from the auto car?

You do not have to change the Ecu, many people have carried out conversions while leaving the auto ecu in! do a search!

No you don't. It should work perfectly as is. If you swap ECU's, it won't work at all because it will be axpecting all the guff to do with an automatic gearbox, i.e. only let you start in N or P.

Excellent, thanks guys.

I'll just swap the whole engine and tubs as is.

My plan is to slowly mod the other engine, depending on what damage I've done, but hey, that's a whole other thread, lol.
