just disconnected my fuel pump relay (as i'm removing the plenum for new cam seals etc) and think i might have shorted it trying to get it out. it touched the metal bit next to it and then just went dead!

any idea how to get it back working again?

cheers royal for your help.

i'll buy you a beer next time im in t.wells!

yeah, i've deinately shorted it. would i have blown a fuse, or would i need a new relay.

No probs with the help mate, just call if there's anything. Not sure what would have happened with the relay (sure someone with big brainy bits will come on soon and explain, maybe done a fuse) Are you sure it wasn't just beacuse the pressure had been released from the fueling system, and the petrol cap was off?? You might find when the car is back together it'll be ok.

yeah, will try later,

but when i put the key in and turn it on (but don't start) i don't hear the pump rev!

not sure what i've done!

cool, cheers.

what is it 20A? nevermind, will check it later!

ta. Jim,

ok, replaced the fuse for the fuel pump because it had completely shorted out!

they're wierd fuses so swapped the skid control one with it,

but it's still not starting! it doesn't even turn over!

any ideas?

oh it might be because the fuel pump relay in the drivers footwell isn't completely back in! i guess it needs to make a solid connection to complete the circuit!

ok, it's really awkward to put the fuel pump relay back in! not sure how hard i have to push it till it just clicks in? wierd.
