I'm not sure if this is due to a recent set of tyres being fitted (10k ago) but I've noticed that when I hit 100mph or so (on a private test track - officer!) I get a vibration which stays with me at speeds over that. Is there anything else that I should check that could cause high speed vibrations?

She's getting on a bit now so I thought 'wheel bearings'

Comments Appreciated.

Probably the tyres/wheels haven't been balanced correctly.

Had the same problem with mine.

I had them rebalanced and the problem went away...but now I feel a slight vibration at 190Mph and above ;-)

Guess I have to get them rebalanced again....damn kwikfitters can't do anything right.. =)

Eric,

I think you'll find it smooths out again once you pass 200mph - lol

does it do it at only around 100mph (of course only on the private track) and does it go away at speeds above 100mph (only on the private track) is so it is wheel balencing if it is constant ti could mean many things

So anyway, this friend of mine with a Black 1990 ZX who is completely irresponsible in my opinion! Gets this vibration at or near 100mph on the motorway and yes it's not as bad over that speed. I thought tyre balancing but feared it could be something else that.

Sounds like the wheels I know, but it's good to worry about something else isn't it?

well your friend sounds like he does then have a wheel balencing problem so chances are if he goes and has that done he should hav no more probs at those ridiculous speeds of over the 50 mph

I get a wobble above 4mph.

It only ever seems to happen on a friday or saturday night at 11:30pm when I'm not in the car...

the only wobble i get is on the phone to those idiots fixing my car in rome lol
