I am now in a position that I can get my first Zed :dance:

 

HOWEVER, I have shopped around for insurance quotes and now I am confused.

 

If I put the car in as a 300zx Turbo Auto - I can get third party, fire and theft quotes for around the £350 mark (I am 31 with 9+years ncb)

 

When I try and get a quote on a Fairlady Z (Jap import right?) the quote jumps up to in excess of £1000!!!

 

Aren't these roughly the same bloody car!! :headvswal :headvswal :headvswal

 

Any advice on insurance would be good!!!

Bloody hell!! A bit pricy!

 

Anyway it's because the Fairlady is the Japanese import, hence the differance in price.

Your best bet is to subscribe to here, and get a quote fom http://www.adrianflux.co.uk/, they are pretty good.

do a search for insurance and you'll find some recommendations... there are a few companies that don't excessivley hike the premium for imports (although recently a few have stopped insuring them - particularly on classic policies)

I've got a JDM 91 Manual TT (fairlady) insured with A-Plan's import department in Thatcham and it cost me £850 fully comp with protected no claims and I'm only 24 with 5 years NCB! Give em a try.
