Hi Guys,

There is free support available through the Cable manufacter and Software developer :

Datascan support - nissandatascan@yahoo.com

Blazt cable support - support@blazt.biz

Be sure you are selecting the correct port in Datascan, either by trial and error with each port number or by looking it up in Device manager.#

I know a couple of you have had connection problems, Im not sure why as yet, when others have had no problems. Perhaps we can try and work out a pattern :

Windows Version

Driver Version

Vehicle Year

Vehicle type (UK/Jap , TT, NA)

i can get mine to work a treat. wish i knew what i was looking at though.

Good idea,

Windows XP, Home Edition, 2002 version, SP2

Driver version 4.28

1991

UK TT Auto

Like I said earlier all I had to do was make sure Datascan and Windows were both using the same port at the same speed.

sorry to sound dum but what is datascan and what does it do

So where do we get the 4.28 driver.....anyone got it as a file??

Nate sorry I just seen your post. Datascan is a diagnostic tool used with a laptop, checks fault codes and you can watch sensors on the engine.

HTH Cheers John Crisp

problem with the 4.28 driver is most of us just let windows find it , so we dont have the exe file for install.

Wish I had realised that you could set your base idle using datascan earlier though.

Retro, why is windows on some pc's finding the files and on others isnt? I know pc's are kinda succeptible to being weird at times but wtf. Surely if I need the driver, windows should find it end of story.

It cant find any drivers, thats the frustrating thing. When I ask it to search it flashed up that windows cant find any drivers.

Graham am using the Blatz driver and I tried the silicon labs driver as well.

What happens when it is connecting, does it go straight in or is here a counter, also does the car need to be running as previously stated.

Cheers John Crisp

First off once you have connected the cable without it connected to the car make sure the cable port and the programs expected port are correct.

ignition on after connecting the cable to the car, then click connect.

ecu part number should come up.

I advise before using you go to data display in settings and test for live registers to make sure your picking up relevent info, once done select what you want the gauges to display , then go into display and et viola.

The reason i advise checking your registers if you have a gauge selected that is not a live register it will freeze the system up.

John does your Laptop have a unused serial port, if so, would you prefer me to exchange the USB for a Serial Datascan cable ?

  • Author

David,

I dont know what I am doing wrong here mate, when I try to connect nothing happens. Does the serial connection work without drivers etc as if it does an exchange would be appreciated. Being honest I thought the usb would be the easier of the two.
