I'm a bit miffed at the moment as I not sure what my oil temp should be at. It seems to sit at around 85'C but if I give her some serious boot will climb to about 110'c unless I back off. The result is that water Temp will go into high 90's.

The car is running a little rich at the moment, but JD said he'd map her properly on the rolling road soon, but I want the temp thing right before I sit her on a rolling road reving her tits off.

Help??

I was running 15psi boost and my water never went above 89c.

Not sure on oil though, no gauge for that.

My water runs hot like yours if you boot the zed for a while (based on datascan). Ive checked and bled the coolant level and monitored it closely, but the temperature does peak and then stay about 95.

Im going to try some water wetter when i drain my coolant, but it might just be the efficency of your coolant system on the zed

ok ive greddy gauges so pretty acurate, water sits around 80 till i hit the happy pedal then goes to 90. oil sits around 80-85 till i mash it then shoots up to 95-100. but the big but is when ive calmed down my pace they both very rapidly drop to normal which in my eyes seems ok,and the very intresting thing is with so much diffrence in temp the standed gauge stays the same :( a warning not to believe the oem stuff if you start upping the power game

I have Greddy Gauges and best part of £30K worth of stuff in this car so I really need to know what the standard temp operation figures are so I can get on top of this before I thrape the living daylights out of her. So that my investment doesn't end up a steaming mess again.

Check the Viscous Fan operation, make sure the auxillary fan is coming to too (disconnect plug from temp sender and it should come on)

How old is the thermostat? maybe worth running a colder one. And definately recommend Water wetter if your cooling system hasnt been upgraded and you like to use the happy pedal a lot :-))

Got no Viscous fan, Got big rad, Got new thermostat etc. I re installed The air con for creature comforts and it seemed to upset the ballance.

So we've had a dabble and relocated a load of stuff and seem to be on top of it. After several hours of finding new homes for Dump valves, Aircon regulator Valve and new oil cooler arangement she seems fine. Even when I got stuck in traffic for 2 1/4 hours in Manchester. Oil did ocasionally tip the 92 degree mark, but water stayed around 80 to 84. So I think we've nailed her. + Ten minutes of real serious redline pain and she stayed within the above. Though I'm going to make some ally ducting to get a smooth air flow. I recon that will be worth 5+ degrees.

Any pictures of where youve moved stuff? Always thought the zeds radiator wasnt best exposed for the cool air, (that plus the other coolers in front of it!)

£30k  ive loved these cars since they hit the showrooms and had three of em but as long as i have a hole in my ass ide never plough £30k into one, having said that it dont mean i dont admire the lads who do thou :)

Its just a slippery slope that you don't realise until you on it and comited. Or is that should be comited.

I have to confess to this being engine build number 2. Its frightening and just shows the this Bastaed will not beet me attitude is realy for people with more money than me.

i'll take some pics in next few days

Mark are you running a fan sysyem such as the Flexa-lite Twins?? if not i highly recommend them, especially for the Price (£200 to your door). We run them with Koyo and PHR rads when doing away with the Viscous Fan.

Also, I take it you are running an updrated oil cooler??

Got a 20" not 22 like it says in my rides, Pacet Fan. It seems to do the job. Wil lok at the Flexa-lite. Have a read of my ride section. If you see anything i may fall over with there let me know why you think. Cos I know It's not 100 percent right yet.

Just had a look through, and you do have the cooler stat controlled. A lot of people over look that :-)

I usually run a remote filter housing to a T-Stat then to the cooler. just makes live easier and looks good.

Personally i would defo concentrate on the Fuel system. 550's at 20psi is pushing the stock system a little. I know thers loads who diagree, but with an investment ya cant cut corners. you will eventially go for bigger injectors new rail etc etc - So if you do i would be looking at an Aeromotive An1000 pump, running a 2 -6 feedlines to each rail and using an Areomotive FPR at the end of the loop- doing away with stock FP and Pulsation damper etc etc. or running 2 intank Walbro's using the same principal as above. if you need any input on doing this id be happy to help you out - have a great contact for Earls and Aeromotive Products too.

But remember, who ever you get to set up and tune the car, thier advice is worth more than anybodys on here - so sit down and talk about how you see your build progressing and absorb every tip they have to say Mark

And good luck with it, you are pushing the boundaries so it is worth it!

Hey guys how i can install my greddy oil temp meter ? where can i connect the sensor ? does anybody know ?

thanks !

if them higher temps are when your really pushing the car hard and go no higher then there fine, i saw 110 on my oil temp when i pushed it hard and 90 on my water temp, if your car see's 120 on the oil then back off as oil breaks down at about 128 degrees but 110 is fine if pushing hard and as you say if it then goes down when you take it easy then the cooler is doing its job

Your going to need either a sandwich plate, or an in line connetor to put in the feed to the cooler, or tap the sump.

I think I still have my Greddy sandwich plate if your interested.
