Hey guys, was wondering if anybody knew of someone who for instance sells re-con turbo's but takes ur old ones off you to keep the cost down???

I,ve just got a quote from East Midlands Turbo,s in nottingham, to have a pair re-conned £175 +vat each , i,ve bought a second hand pair , gonna get them done soon and swap em over :dance: :dance:

But as for taking your old ones in px i don,t know bud (note to self , read thread correctly first :headvswal ) :D

what do you get for that please boldly?? 360 bearing, all steel blades etc???

As far as i,m aware it,s new bearings, seals, checked over , balanced and fully cleaned , basically taking them back to as new ,

I need to call in again and find out exactly wot you get :headvswal HTH

ok mate, its not for me its for a mate who has uprated tubs, one has gone so am just trying to source a place to get it reconned..

the only place i'll use is A.E.T turbos :bow: at normanton, west yorks.

they aint the cheapest but do you really wanna cut corners with something as important as your turbos?

how odd, have just emailed them also for a quote on re-conning a turbo, see what price they come up with...

"We can remanufacture the units to standard for £ 320.00 +vat (each) Or to stage 1 hybrid, consists of 360%thrust, uprated normal bearings, total seal turbine seals and flowed turbine housings, cost £ 480.00 +vat (each) allows units to run higher boost safely!!"

 

this is a quote for my mates uprated T28 hybrid turbos, with an AR or .60 so not exactly standard to start with..

 

these guys have an excellent rep also.. their turnaround time is also excellent...

Website,s not up at the mo , just moved to new premises and are updating it.

Spoke to them again , they can fit 360 degree bearings for an extra £100 a turbo.

It would be difficult to give an accurate quote over the phone cos until the tubs have been stipped and inspected they can,t say wot might need replacing .

He could see one of the compressor wheels on the tubs i,ve got is a bit tatty around the edges so need a new one , but if its only very minor damage they repair the wheels , as long as it,s balancable , they also supply new gaskets with the re-con. HTH
