I'm in the process of removing all the tweed from the panels and then cleaning off the old glue.

As it's rather hard work scrubbing the old glue off I went and bought some of this and it's absolutely brilliant  Does exactly what it says on the tin ie bottle

You can see the results I had in the 3rd photo showing a cleaned up panel

You can get it from CPC - http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=SA00733&N=411

Hrmm, it's not a tin!! ;)

You're right it's not :headvswal but it still fookin works brill

I wonder if it would have worked on expanding foam!

After many year of using the stuff I got cocky and didn’t use any gloves, ended up getting it on my hands, thought that I was being clever using the ‘eater’ dissolver to wash my hands, but ended up making a right mess of my hands, not good when you work in an office and are always meeting new clients.

Nothing worked and ended up using wet sand, got no fingerprints now!

Thanks for the tip Apache. Will need this product at some point.

How long did you need to leave it to soak until you scrubbed it off bud?

It says on the bottle to leave for 30-60 mins but I found that even as I was brushing it on the old glue was beginning to come off :) Powerful stuff indeed.

And a top tip when using it - use it a VERY well ventilated area and wear rubber gloves.

It looks like I may have some left over if anyone wants some bringing to JAE.

Is there anywhere on the high street (well retail park) to get this? I got some vinyl today and as she is not playing nice to drive I might as well do some other bits on her :D

Not sure mate - but I've got half a bottle left which, if you're going to JAE, I can bring down for ya :)

Thanks for another great offer but not sure what's happening with me and JAE (got to wait for work to play a hand and where I'd sleep) if I go I want her interior sorted by then. I've got everything but said solvent, while I can get it via the inet I'd rather go pick it up tomorrow so I can get on with it

sell me your headlight panel

No    It was specially made just for me

So I ordered some of the stuff in the original post and while I'm waiting for it to arrive have managed to nearly strip clean 4 panels (fcuking impossible to get out passengers corner, glovebox, bit next to glove box that joins tranny tunnel and under steering wheel) all with about 100ml of nail varnish remover and some kitchen roll

I reckon if I get down the shops for some more acetone I'll have the lot done before the delivery gets here :wack:

Well done mate - be careful of the acetone - nasty stuff.

All my panels are now removed, the tweed stripped off and the glue cleaned away. Only problem now is the leather to re-trim them all won't be in stock until the end of August :headvswal

Still it'll give me plenty of time to wire in the sub and it's amp, new speakers, the speed detector, additional 12 volt power sockets, grounding kit and rear fog light

If you're going to JAE hunt me out and I'll show you how I did it. :D

Well it's only a dilute, obviously if it's for going on womens nails they aren't going to use it neat  I have the other stuff now, it takes a couple of minutes to eat away at the glue but it's less effort than NPR, also less likely to make the (well ventilated) room start spinning! lol

Someone with a camera should really do a FAQ on this at one stage I thought I was going to have to take the windscreen out :x: :headvswal
