Jap spec - thus imports. Usually N/A, but not always.

Went to see "a stunning example" of a Fairlady in London, once...only to find jump leads in the boot and women's shoes in the back seats...

seen a m plate tt advertised for 6995 from a dealer

just wondered if they were lower spec?

yeah in JAPAN it was called the Fairlady?

As a rule of thumb the JAP spec cars are pretty much better equipped and generally better looked after. On the down side, there is a lot of crap out there and with the UK versions you at least have a chance of getting a decent history.

At the end of the day, go for the colour and type of car you want ie manual or auto, ect,Chances are you wont find exactly what you are after.

As for resale i have the traders resale book and there really is no difference in the uk models and jap models of the same year.

Good luck.

Is there any more information with it? Jap Specs are generally harder to insure (read : more expensive) and some dealers will try to have you over on the "Oh it's an import, that'll be a £25 search fee, please". But with TT.Net, Courtesy Nissan and the helpful people on here, there's not a huge difference between Jap Spec and UK.

Jap Specs are generally in better condition, but you run the risk of them possibly being re-registered as newer cars than their chassis number dictates, little, if any service history, difficulties in getting them re-mapped from kph to mph and having the fog light decently fitted and a slight possibility of them having been stolen.

At the end of the day, it's what you can find, afford and are happy with that counts. It took me 9 months to find my UK Spec 2+2 manual. I travelled the length and breadth of the country to find one that hadn't been thrashed, wasn't rusting to pieces and was in good condition.

Good luck in your search.

Anita.
