Castrol RS and oil change time again!

Fuck me I was only under the car a few weeks ago changing the oil! Gives you an idea of how much mileage I'm doing...Shhhhhhh...don't tell the Insurance Company. wink.gif

Right I've decided to get some Castrol Formula RS and it cost me...ready for this? £31.99 for 4 litres...Jesus!!!

Is this gonna refill me lucky Z or do I need a bit more???

When I did the last change I noticed that it very nearly guzzled most of a 5 litre jobby!

TIA

Please please buy it - im gettin desperate now god damit !!!

spooky or what mines due next week and i use exactly the same oil.......ure a litre short m8 but look on the plus side like i do you buy another can and it does you for ure next four changes and if i as i u change every 3000 then its not too bad although i pay 27.50 for a can but hey you've only paid a few quid more......if its the first time youve put rs in do a flush as well and watch how clean this oil stays in ure car i swear one time my oil still looked clear when i changed it

Cheers guys, I've got a can of Wynns engine flush which I was gonna use on the Merc in the garage. So I'll use that, I know it's frowned upon to use a flush but in this case it might be warranted.

This Castrol stuff is bleedin' expensive so I wanna be happy in knowing that the old stuff has been thoroughly exumed!

Toolmeister, you say I'm a litre short but Nick says 3.2L who's the imposter here amongst us??? LOL biggrin.gif

I've got the service manual so I'll look up the exact capacity later.

Cheers fellow geeZerZ wink.gif

Timmy check the manual - As i said My Memmory is patchy at best - Always check the dip stick before you start - Let is idle for a bit and then check it again !

Just checked of ya timmy :

I make it from my manual :

3.4l (3 Quarts) with Filter

3.0l without Filter.

Unless that Srange L symbol refers to some other strange notation to which im not aware !

Yeah mate, 4 litres will do ya. How do I know??? I did mine yesterday smile.gif smile.gif, same oil as you too wink.gif

Rob.

Dunno if this is gonna help or not, but I managed to get some Castrol RS from Halfords for £23.99.

Dunno when the offer runs out as it was a month ago when I got it, but if there's a Halfords around might be worth getting a few cans.

I have to put this stuff in my Z and my S13 twice the dosh frown.gif
