I found this on a web page that gives people motoring advice :

"Driving Tips

Car Sickness

Different people are susceptible to car sickness in different ways, but the reason for feeling queasy is associated in most cases with motion. A frequent cause of sickness is being unable to associate the feeling of motion with where the car is going, so it often helps if the passenger can see the road ahead - sitting in the front rather than the back can make all the difference.

Stuffy conditions can also be a problem, so ensuring good airflow through the car (by opening a window or turning up the climate control) may make passengers feel better.

Car sickness can also be caused by rough driving. Firm but gentle steering, even application of the brakes and constant pressure (where possible) on the accelerator pedal will all be appreciated by passengers, even if they don't know why."

They should show this to my wife, the bit about "constant pressure on the accelerator pedal" She screams at me to slow down as it makes her feel sick ! :duffer:

Where do these people get there info from

If you can stand on one leg with your eyes closed you will be fine on boats and cars.

If you get motion sickness doing this everynight will help, it teaches you to use the ear instead of eyes for balance.

I had to do it with my sensei punching my belly, but it worked don't need to look where im going to keep my balance. And I don't get sea sick

I agree with this bit, when I was a kid I suffered from car/motion sickness, once I was ablee to sit in the front I was fine. I still suffer from it if I sit facing backwards in trains!

Well my balance is pretty damn good, and I can stand on one leg while scratching my arse all day. I crewed a yacht in the tall ships race and puked for 3 weeks solid! Might have been all the alcohol and debauched goings on that contributed to it though !
