i posted on a thread on saterday explaining that my car went on the rollers and the chap said more boost i was running the leaner it was getting.

so i thought i post the photo off this too see what you guys think etc.

the numbers on the right are the LMBDA the 1st line is at standerd boost the 2nd is at 11psi the third at 1bar as you can see on standerd boost its about 0.8 but more boost it goes up a bit.the chap told me this isnt right and should stay at 0.8 is this correct??he told me to fit i uprated pump which smithy said i shouldnt need (said it would cost 150 quid fitted)

(the last section blue line is at 6500 rpm)

(the other lines are the hp )

cheers in advance

0.8 is and afr of 11.76 which is very rich.

you really could do with going to 2 decimal places as 0.89 is around 13.07, which is around where you need to be for tuning i would say, so you need a more accurate figure. Optimum is 14.7 however when tuning a highly modded engine it will be best to aim for around 13, or at least thats where i'll be aiming.

and what the best way to do this etc.

As said above, when tuning we aim for a safe 12.98 on any turbo car which allows for a bit of headroom (but not much). At 1bar your still a little rich, but better to be rich than lean. The RR operator didnt seem to know a lot if he could'nt give you advice. The more boost you run on a turbo car, the more leaner it will get (more air in uses more fuel) which pits a demand on your fuel system due to injector sizing, fuel pressure and other factors also come into the equation like ambient temp, Ron rating, spark plug type and gapping etc etc

The likes of the SE ECU maps say a max of 1bar as this puts you in a safe area. If you feel confident with your RR operator, you could increase by 2psi on each run until you reach an optimum AFR. remember 1bar isnt neccesarily the max for every vg30dett.

What Chip are you running??
